Robert Harold Duke, 65, of Suffolk, VA went to be with the Lord after a long courageous battle with cancer on April 20, 2009. A native of Nansemond County, VA he was the son of the late David Presley Duke, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Taylor Duke. He was also predeceased by his wife, Mel Lewter Duke. Bobby retired after 40 years as an Inspector for the Virginia Department of Transportation. He was a life long member of Liberty Spring Christian Church and the Friendship Bible Class. Bobby was a member of Post P of the T.P.A.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-laws, Deborah D. and Heath Bryant of Nags Head, NC and Cynthia D. and Scott Krentz of Stanton, Nebraska; grandchildren Joshua Krentz and Adam Krentz; brother and sister-in-law David Presley Duke, Jr. and Joanne D. Duke of Lubuck, Texas.

A funeral service will be held at Liberty Spring Christian Church on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 11 am with Rev. Allen Lancaster and Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may join the family at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, VA on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 pm for visitation.
