Robert Harold Carmichael, 64, of Gates, NC passed away on November 8, 2011. A native of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late George Carmichael and Sophie Garner Carmichael. He was a truck driver for Tennessee Steel Haulers. Robert was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and served his country during the Vietnam conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Jean L. Carmichael; daughters and son-in-law, Heather and Carl Nimal and Jessica Carmichael; step-daughter and step-son Debbie and Michael Hosti; grandchild, Travis Daulton and step-grandchild, Lynn Hosti; great grandchild, Anthony Chiaro; sister, Georgia A. Chioi and brothers, James and Michael Carmichael.

A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434, with pastor Bob Weise officiating. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com
