Robert Merritt "Bob" Johnson, 77, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was born in Isle of Wight Co, VA to the late Margaret Virginia Johnson and Otis Ryland Johnson Sr. He served in the US Air Force and later worked at the Naval Air Station Norfolk and as a mechanical engineering technician for Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He also worked part time at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Suffolk, VA.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Mary Helen Walsh Johnson; stepchildren, Pauline Walsh Warren (Jeffrey) and Richard Aloysuis Walsh (Marianne); grandchildren, Autumn Faith Leggett (Corey), Erica Joy Lau (Kit) and Angela Grace Sari (Alex); great grandchildren, Elena, Zachariah, Anna, Avery, Emmarie, Cassidy and Harper; brother, Bill "Fuzzy" Johnson (Shirley); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob's funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Sunday, March 14, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Suffolk, VA with Dr. Thurman Hayes, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:15 pm until the service begins on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
