Richard Small, 70, passed away August 17, 2018 surrounded by his family.  He was born in Tazewell, VA to the late Huey Small and Faby Harrison Small. He was also predeceased by an infant son, Benny Jarvis Small.  He was the retired owner and operator of Concrete Paving for over 30 years.  Richard was a member of Big City Church in Suffolk. Richard loved God and his family. Richard's passion was his love for old cars and trucks.  He loved "a good deal".  Richard loved getting together with family and friends.

Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia; daughters, Virginia Leigh Barefoot (Larry), Tina Small (Eddie); sister, Lucille Lester; grandchildren, Amanda Acey (Roy), Stella Cooper (Eddie), Richard Small, Ginny Griffey (Kevin), Alexis Smith (Eddie), Doris Ann Barefoot, Hunter Barefoot; great grandchildren, Ginny Leigh Acey, Levi John Acey, River Lynn Griffey, Chrisley Marie Cooper, Eddie Christian Small; mother in law, Doris Wilkins; brothers-in-law, Charles Small (Sharon Fitzgerald), Tommy Small; sister and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Jessie Snead, Cecelia Strickland, Kandy and Denny Lewis, numerous nieces, nephews, and very specials friends Jimmy and Shirley Wilson.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434 with Pastors Rudy Pitscheneder and Howard Small officiating.  Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6-9 p.m.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
