The love of our lives, Richard Everett Lynn, 70, was called to his Eternal Home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 14, 2021. He was born in Portsmouth, VA. He was predeceased by his parents Marshall Henry Lynn and Helen Charlotte Harris Lynn and his brothers, David L. Lynn and Marshall H. Lynn, Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Brenda Hollowell Lynn; daughter, Karen Lynn Timmins (Robert); grandchildren, Katie Pritchard (Gavin), Robert Timmins, Jr.; great-granddaughter Sierra Pritchard; sisters, Susan K. Lynn and Janet K. Phillips (Bill); brother, Gary D. Lynn (Joanne); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He retired as a Captain from Suffolk Fire Department after 30 years of service and as a professional painter. After retirement he worked as a truck driver for GTL Transport Service. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and trips to the mountains. He was a Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, & Great Grandfather. He loved his family. He was a man of great character and integrity. He was a hard working man with much wisdom. He trusted his life to Christ many years ago and tried his very best to live for Him daily. He was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church where he taught the Tommie Ellis Sunday School Class and was active on their Visitation Team. The family would like to thank the ICU Nurses, Doctors, and Staff and all Palliative Team who assisted with our loved one's end of life care at Sentara Obici Hospital.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Cypress Chapel Christian Church with Rev. Alan Cruz officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Monday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Cypress Chapel Christian Church Mission Fund or CAPS. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com
