Richard Donald Hill, born November 26, 1937, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on November 3, 2026, in Suffolk, Virginia, at the age of 88.

Mr. Hill retired as Chief Financial Officer in 2000, concluding a distinguished 37-year career with the Sentara Health System. Throughout his professional life, he was known for his dedication and integrity.

A man of varied interests, Richard was an avid golfer and a voracious reader. He had a profound love for music spanning many genres. His woodworking skills were evident in the birdhouses and boxes he crafted with great care. An enthusiastic gardener, he took special pride in propagating azaleas.

He was formerly a member of the Virginia Beach Rotary Club, contributing to his community through this affiliation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley Hill and Pearl Frances Snowden Hill, and siblings Elizabeth Hill Thompson, George Wesley Hill, and Dorothy Hill.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Helen Kello Hill; daughters Suzanna Hill Dutton (David), and Hylah Lynn Hill (Andy); grandchildren Logan, Madeline, and Christopher Dutton; niece Kathy Cobb and nephew Ricky Hardy; numerous other nieces and nephews; and his cherished dog, Peggy Sue.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday evening, November 9, 2026, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. A graveside service will follow on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Windsor Cemetery.
