Raymond Hardy Spivey, 91, passed away April 20, 2013. He was born in Isle of Wight County, VA the son of the late Rodney Blake Spivey and Elsie Carr Spivey. He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years Frances Juanita Redd Spivey on April 11,2013. Raymond served as a Master Sergeant, 3rd Army, in Europe during WWII. He retired as a manager after 28 years from Colonial Stores and later went on to found and retire from Spivey Exterminating.

Raymond is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Diane and Jim Carver of Hertford, NC, Barbara Boudion and Peter Yanson of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Karin Carver, Kevin and Nicole Carver, and Adam Boudion; great grandchildren, Hannah, Austin, and Peyton Carver; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister, Elsie Mae Gauthier.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. T.A. Powell officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service at the funeral home. Following the visitation burial will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veteran Cemetery with military honors. Friends may join the family other times at his residence.
