Raymond Lamar Newsome, 84, passed away May 13, 2019.  He was born in Emporia, VA the son of the late Joseph and Lottie Newsome.  He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia F. Newsome.  Raymond retired as a United States Navy veteran having served during the Korean War.  He later went on to own and operate his own Heating and Air Conditioning company.

Raymond is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah "Debbie" Newsome Robertson (Roger); son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Newsome (Vicky); grandchildren and their spouses, P. Brian Bennett (Mandy), Angela B. Smith (Chad), Heather E. Johnson (Taylor), Evan B. Newsome, Sheridan M. Senechal (Justin), Savannah E. Newsome, Brandon D. Robertson; great grandchildren, Alex, Trinity, Autumn, August, Chase, Charlotte; sisters, Bessie Cooper and Edith Roughton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
