Raymond Almond Hanbury, 85, went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his family on January 4, 2010. He served in the U.S. Navy and Military Sealift Command for a total of 36 years serving in WWII, Korean War, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. Following retirement from the military he was self employed as a dump truck operator. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Robert Dundlow.
Mr. Hanbury is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Charlene; three daughters, Carolyn Dundlow, Eva Combs (Clay Byrum), and Karen Wilson (Casey); two sons, Billy Hanbury and Dan Hanbury (Vicki); five grandchildren, Charlene (Wayne), Elizabeth, Bryan, Paul, and Danya; two great granddaughters.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. Graveside services will be held with full military honors Friday at 2 p.m. at Albert G.
