Obituary

Raymond Almond Hanbury, 85, went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his family on January 4, 2010. He served in the U.S. Navy and Military Sealift Command for a total of 36 years serving in WWII, Korean War, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. Following retirement from the military he was self employed as a dump truck operator. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Robert Dundlow.

Mr. Hanbury is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Charlene; three daughters, Carolyn Dundlow, Eva Combs (Clay Byrum), and Karen Wilson (Casey); two sons, Billy Hanbury and Dan Hanbury (Vicki); five grandchildren, Charlene (Wayne), Elizabeth, Bryan, Paul, and Danya; two great granddaughters.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. Graveside services will be held with full military honors Friday at 2 p.m. at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Ellen Lesley officiating. Condolences may be registered at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
