Ralph K. Hollowell, Jr., 79, of Suffolk, Virginia, passed away June 25, 2012. He was born in Tyner, NC to the late Ralph K. and Cora Peele Hollowell, Sr. Ralph served in the Air Force as a Staff Sargent in the Strategic Air Command. He retired as the Vice-president of the Bank of Suffolk. Ralph was a member of First Baptist Church of Suffolk and the men's Bible class. He was a former member of the Cypress Ruritan Club, Lion's Club, TPA, and the Suffolk Golf Association. Ralph was an avid golfer during his early years, until his health declined.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 57 years, Catherine Brinkley Hollowell; daughter, Karen Hollowell Gaduyon of Sunbury, NC; grandson, Noah Gaduyon; brother, Stuart Hollowell and wife, Velma of Panama City, FL; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lassiter and husband, James of Florence, SC; brother-in-law, F.J. Brinkley, Jr. and wife Betty; several nieces, nephews, and close cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sentara Obici Hospital as well as the staff at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation for their kindness shown during Ralph's illness.

A funeral service with military honors will be held Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, VA 23434, with Rev. Charles W. Thompson and Dr. Thurman Hayes, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
