Raleigh Ray Nurney "Pete", 87, passed away on December 6th, 2021. Pete was born in Isle of Wight County to the late Jack Nurney and Virginia Gray Nurney. Pete farmed and worked at various dealerships in Smithfield as a mechanic for the most part of his early life. Later he enjoyed cutting grass and riding around the back roads of Isle of Wight and Suffolk.

Pete is survived by a sister, Mary Jane Phippins; by two daughters, Cindy Muise and Kathie Thelen; 3 grandchildren, Daniel Huneycutt, Greg Butler, Keith Martin Jr.; and numerous great grandchildren. Family would also like to recognize the love and care that Berdie Duck gave Pete for the past 22 years as a resident in her trailer court.

Upon Raleigh (Pete) Nurney's wishes the family will not be holding a service. Instead family and friends are asked to take a backroad and reminisce on memories of loved ones. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com .
