Rachel Stewart Goodwin, 81, passed away August 25, 2025.  She was born in Norfolk County, VA the daughter of the late Harrell and Amy Stewart.  Rachel was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Ronald Carroll Goodwin, Sr.; and siblings, Carolyn, Johnny, Tommy, and William.  She worked in retail at Woolworth's and Wal-Mart.

Rachel is survived by her sons, Ronald C. Goodwin, Jr. (Beth) and David A. Goodwin (Alice); grandchildren, Ben (Heather), Daniel (Prairie), Allen (Christina), Amber (Chris), and Myah; great grandchildren, Alexis, Rose, Rachel, Brantley, Levi, Gage, Mirabel, Layla, and Lucy; sisters, Barbara, Sharon, Joyce, and Donna; brother, Elmer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Sunbury, NC.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Wednesday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
