Rabon Lee Dotson, 69, of Suffolk, Va., passed away Oct. 31, 2011. He was born in Glen Alum, W.Va., the son of the late Silas and Lillie Dotson. He was also predeceased by a son, Donald Ray Dotson. He worked as a security guard for Clemons Security.

Rabon is survived by his wife of 36 years, Helen Copeland Dotson; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Ricky Blankenship, Janice and Ricky Toler, Shelia and Scott Gomer, and Wanda Walls; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Donna Dotson, Mike Matthews, Rabon and Emlie Dotson, David Matthews, and Kevin and Christine Dotson; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Vaughan, Rachel Winborne and Janet Bryant.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Raymond White officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Wednesday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
