Polly Sheffield Riddick, 80, went to be with Jesus on September 24, 2024. She was born in Suffolk, Virginia and the daughter of the late, Andrew Council Sheffield and Virginia Duke Sheffield. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Emmitt Blanchard Riddick and daughter, Robin Riddick Blanchard.  Polly worked for Suffolk Christian School and Windsor Supply Company prior to her 20+ years at Suffolk Health Department where she retired as a Fiscal Senior Tech.  Throughout her years, Polly worshipped at Nansemond River Baptist Church, First Baptist Church and Southside Baptist Church.

Polly is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Heidi Riddick; granddaughters, Bailey and Peyton Riddick; son-in-law, Randell Blanchard (Jennifer); sister-in-law, Merle Kay Blanchard; niece and nephew, Carrie Purser (Ben) and Lee Blanchard (Beth); cousins, Linda Warren (Russell), Peggy Parker-Butler (Gary), Phyllis Benton (Linwood), Carolyn Dunn and many other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church, 237 N. Main St., Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Gary Vaughan, Rev. Ryan Brice, and Rev. Thurman Hayes, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Tuesday night, October 1, 2024 from 6-7 pm at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the residence of Andrew and Heidi Riddick.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
