Phoebe Rogers Walley, 92, of Suffolk, passed away on October 26, 2010. A native of Suffolk she was the daughter of the late Amasa Taylor Rogers and Susie Harvell Rogers and also predeceased by her husband, Everette DeWitt Walley. She graduated in 1942 from the Norfolk General Hospital School of Nursing; a retired registered nurse with the Public Health Hospital in Norfolk; a member of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church and a member of the Timothy Group.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Malinda W. and Melvin Gipson of Zuni and Susan W. and Jason Cooper of Suffolk; sons and daughter-in-law Everette D. Walley, Jr. and Faye Walley of Moyock, NC and Roger Walley of Raiford, FL; six grandchildren, Rebecca Rumley, Kristen Edmundson, Clayton Walley, Nicole Gipson, Brandon Gipson and Jenipher McMillan; six great grandchildren, Margaret Rose Rumley, Seth Edmundson, Vyctoria McMillan, Zion Walley, Dylen McMillan, Sarah Edmundson; sisters: Betty R. Thompson and Jean R. Snow.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ruffin Alphin officiating. Inurnment will be private. Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday night at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, 3488 Godwin Boulevard, Suffolk.
