Peter Teddy DePriest, 49, of Portsmouth, VA passed away May 17, 2009. He was the son of the late Dorothy Ann and Morris Hill Swaithes and also predeceased by his former wife, Eugenia "Genia" DePriest. Pete was employed by Swift Trucking Company.

He is survived by Tracey Suleman of the home. He also has two wonderful daughters, Christina Johnson and husband Chad of Gastonia, NC and Shannon Scott of Emporia, VA. Pete leaves behind two sisters: LuCinda Dirck of Polo, MO and Patricia Fish and husband Max of Chesapeake, VA. He also leaves behind six brothers: Joseph C. Woodell, Cecil W. Woodell and Paul D. DePriest, all of Portsmouth, VA; Norman "Butch" Gonzales, William F. Whaley and wife Helen, and Daniel B. Whaley, all of Chesapeake, VA. Pete also leaves behind eleven grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA with Rev. Wayne Sawyer officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Suffolk, VA. Friends may join the family on Friday evening from 7 - 8 pm for visitation.
