Peggy Joyce Smith Gayle, 87, passed away September 28, 2017.  She was born in Suffolk, VA the daughter of the late Hersey Underwood Smith and Nellie Mae Eure Smith Byrd.  She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Frank Lee Gayle; and a son, Frank Lee Gayle, Jr.  Peggy worked as a clerk at Village Auction Barn and was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Terry G. Beech; sons, Scott H. Gayle (Dean) and James E. Gayle, III (Margarita); 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; and sister, Betty Jean Hobbs.

A graveside service will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Matt Winters officiating.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation prior to the graveside service from 10-11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
