Peggy Louise Gilliam Sparling, 86, passed away January 11, 2022.  She was born in Nansemond County, VA the daughter of the late Malcolm Fleetwood Gilliam and Faye McClenney Gilliam.  She was predeceased by her son, Thomas "T.J." Sparling.  For numerous years, Peggy worked as a pharmacy tech for Obici Hospital, secretary for Eure Realty and ultimately retired from Dr. Odea's Chiropractic Office.

Peggy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Larry Bounds; daughter-in-law, Amy Sparling; grandchildren, Kasie Wilson (Steve) and Kristin West (Jason); great grandchildren, Harper, Aubri, Riley, Ellie, Lincoln, and Madeline.

Peggy lived off of Pin Oak Drive before moving to Commonwealth Senior Living.  She loved her neighbors like family.  Her prized possessions were her flowers, garden, and green green grass.  Some of her favorite pastime activities included visits from her great grandchildren and wheelchair strolls with Lincoln.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Wayne Gardner officiating.  Burial will be private at Newman Cemetery at Oakland Christian Church.  Memorial donations may be made to the Suffolk Humane Society.  The family would like to give special thanks to the memory care unit at Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall and Medi Home Health & Hospice, especially her hospice nurse, Stacy.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com .
