Peggy Jean Courtney McCausley, 83, passed away on January 19, 2026. She was born in Beargrass, North Carolina to the late Mary Louise Cowan and James William Courtney. She is also predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Brinkley. She worked as a time and motion engineer for General Electric. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Suffolk. She was a talented artist, and loved her trips to the Outer Banks, but most of all she was proud of her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Tommy Ray McCausley; children, Teri Carr Tillett (Mark), Morris Carr (Melissa), Teresa McCausley (Miriah), and Tony McCausley (Jennifer); ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; special niece, Patricia Sawyer; and cousin, Diane Cardelino.

Peggy's funeral service will be at noon, Friday, January 23, 2026 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Dr. Thurman Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will occur one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Friends may visit with the family at the residence.
