Pearl "Dot" Godwin Baines, 82, of Suffolk, passed away January 29, 2014. She was born in Aulander, NC to the late Arthur Sellers and Mary Bradley Hall. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Lee Godwin and Robert "Bobby" Baines. Dot retired as a nurse from Louise Obici Memorial Hospital and regularly attended Cross Pointe Church in Suffolk. In addition, she was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church.

Dot is survived by her children, Judy Simpkins (Paul Mack), Lynn Joyner (Randall), and Lewis Godwin (Anne); 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and brother, James Bradley Hall.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Cross Pointe Church, 2460 Pruden Blvd, Suffolk, VA 23434, with Pastor David Sexton and Rev. Charles W. Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3 to 4 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434.
