Pearl Luter Clontz, 89, of Smithfield, VA died Tuesday, September 23, 2008. She is survived by her children: Joseph W. Luter, III, Suzanne Luter Anderson and Dorothy Luter Hobson; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Her husbands, Joseph W. Luter, Jr. and Robert L. Clontz predeceased her.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Parr Funeral Home and Crematory of Suffolk. A graveside service will be held at Historic St. Luke's Church in Smithfield on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Will Montgomery officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be: Dr. Barney Jamison, Sonny Bloxom, O. A. Spady and Maynard Gwaltney.
