Obituary

Paul Joseph Lindner, 47, passed away on March 25, 2021, peacefully at home, from natural causes.  He was born in Hammond, IN and is the son of Warren Paul Lindner and Elizabeth Ann Brozas Lindner. In addition to his parents, Paul is survived by his daughter, Ripley Evelyn Elizabeth Lindner; his step-son, Nolan Mcgrew; sister, Amy Lynn Lindner; and brother, Christopher David Lindner.

Paul J. Lindner, CTTC (IW/SW/AW/NAC), retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the United States Navy, having served during the Global War on Terrorism and Iraqi War.  His military experience played a very important role in his life, for his brothers and sisters in the Navy, and for his family.

Paul enlisted in the Navy 1999 and left home to attend Boot Camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois.  Upon graduation from Boot Camp he attended Cryptologic Technician "Technical" School in Pensacola Florida before reporting to his first command, Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron VQ-2 in Rota, Spain, as an Intelligence Analyst and Naval Air Crewman from 2000-2004.  His next assignment was Instructor duty at Naval Security Group Activity, Norfolk from 2004-2007.  He reported aboard USS Donald Cook (DDG-75) as the Electronic Warfare Leading Chief Petty Officer from 2007-2010.  He served as the Tactical Senior Signals Intelligence Coordinator for the NSA's National Security Operations Center while assigned to Navy Information Operations Command, Maryland from 2010-2013.  He concluded his distinguished career at Navy Information Operations Command, Norfolk where he was assigned as an Information Operations Deployer and Fleet Electronic Warfare Trainer.  He retired from Naval service in October of 2019.

His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards) and various campaign, unit, and personal achievement awards.

His ashes will be laid to rest on May 29 in Jacksonville, FL at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
