Patricia Ann "Pat" Neff 69 died on Friday, July 24, 2009 in Norfolk, Virginia as a result of a stroke. Pat was born on April 3, 1940 in Hoboken, New Jersey. She was daughter of the late Angela Marie Kilduff and Earl Larsen, when upon their untimely deaths, she was raised by grandparents Martha and Otto Larsen, who also predeceased her. Pat graduated from Downsville High School in Downsville, New York where she was in the marching band. Pat married Harold Richard Neff on June 11, 1960. As a Navy wife, Pat enjoyed traveling to many states and countries. She was employed by Accent Kitchens and formally employed by Sears and Dr. A. R. Gutherie. Pat made her home on Lake Prince in Suffolk, Virginia with her husband "Hal". Her hobbies and interests included reading, playing Bridge, and caring for her grandchildren. She was a member of the Navy Wives Club for twenty years.
Pat is survived by her husband of 49 years Harold Richard Neff, sons and daughter-in-laws, Mitchell David Neff and Anne Royall Brown Neff of Amherst, Virginia, David Michael Neff and Monique Frances Bean Neff of Virginia Beach, Virginia, grandchildren, Alexander Kay Neff and Megan Marie Neff of Virginia Beach, Virginia, brother, Bob Larsen Matula and his wife Donna Hess Matula, great aunt and uncle, Eddie and Elsie Larsen, Jacqulyn Amato, sister in laws, Betty Marion Vernold, Celia Neff, and Ruth Neff, brother-in-law Richard DelFavero, numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by a son, Michael John Neff, brother in laws, John Neff, Roger Neff, Otis Vernold, Homer "Bud" Bull, sister-in-laws, Ann Neff Daubek, Margaret Neff DelFavero.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Downsville, NY with Father Donahue and Father Shank presiding. There will be reserved seats for family. Internment will be at Paige Cemetery. A reception for the family and friends will be held at 12 noon at the School House Inn. Memorial donations may be made to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the physicians and staff of the NICU and the Palliative Care Team at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The family also gives thanks to our neighbors, family, and friends for prayer, comfort, nourishment, and support. Pat will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend.
