Patricia "Pat" Lynne Anderson Tinkham, 78, transitioned from this life to go home to be with her Lord and Savor Jesus Christ on June 25, 2024 at Sentara Obici, Suffolk, VA 23434 with her family by her side.  She was born on September 1, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa and was the daughter of the late Donald O. and Shirley L. Anderson.  She grew up in Clinton and graduated at Clinton High School in 1963.  The family moved to Suffolk, VA in 1966 and bought a house in Oak Ridge on Delaney Drive that Campbell had built in 1962.

Pat was a homemaker and kept the grandchildren when needed.  She was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Glen Buck Class, Mary Canipe Circle and the Happy Active Christian group.  She served on the Music Committees for several years.  She enjoyed singing gospel music and was a life time member of the Church Choir.  She sang with the Pickard Chorale Singers, YMCA Chorus and the Prime Time Singers.  Her real joy was with the Sweet Assurance Singers for 20 years.  She was a member of the Golden Voices Choir at Lake Prince Woods.  A volunteer for Suffolk Meals on Wheels for 16 years.  She enjoyed working in the flowerbed and shrubbery around the house. Those bird and squirrel feeders had to be kept filled with seeds so they would have some food to eat.

Pat is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Martin Campbell Tinkham for 56 years.  She had two daughters and sons-in-law; Robin M. Harris and husband, the late Mark Harris of Mascot VA; Lisa T. Clements and husband, Mark Clements; three sons and daughters-in-law; Kent Kendall, Axton, VA; Christopher M. Tinkham and wife, Sheila of Suffolk, VA; David C. Tinkham and wife, Dawn of Windsor, VA; five grandchildren, Taylor (Ethan), Austin, Christina, Jason, and Tyler; one great grandson, Ryker.  She had a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond Anderson and wife, Sylvia of Williamsburg, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Connie Yilmaz and husband, Koray of Brooklyn Heights, NY; four nieces and three nephews; a brother-in-law, Ralph Tinkham and wife, Carol. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt appreciation and Thank You to the staff of Lake Prince Woods for their great loving skilled caregiving and supported.

A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1637 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Ricky Garza officiating.  After the service, please join the family for a reception in the church fellowship hall.  Entombment will be 1:30 p.m. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at 10 am, one hour prior to the service at the church.  Parr Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund.  Condolences may be registered on line at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
