Pastor Linwood E. Stanworth, 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday morning.

He was born in Hampton, Virginia and was a 1959 graduate of Hampton High School. He was ordained as a Pastor in 1983 and was married to the love of his life, Donna Rogers Stanworth for 50 years last October 25.

He was the Pastor at Calvary Baptist Missionary Church in Suffolk, and dearly loved the church and its members. They as well as his family will cherish his memory. His son and daughter-in-law, Linwood E. Stanworth, II and Angeline Ryan Stanworth; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Brandon Pitts and grandchildren, Mckynsi Lane and Luke; his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Ann and Danny Osborne of Hampton and lifelong friends, Lee and Betty Wainwright.

Pastor Lin, known by friends as Porky- enjoyed restoring old cars, and was active in many circles buying, fixing and enjoying them. His friends and grandchildren were precious to him.

The family would be honored to have guests at Parr Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7- 8 p.m. Homegoing services will be held on Saturday at Calvary Baptist Missionary Church on Turlington Road in Suffolk at 11am. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions sent to Gideon International – Suffolk Camp, P.O.
