Obituary

Paris George Zambas of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

He was born in Newport News, Virginia on October 31, 1954 to George and Evangeline Zambas, and was a 1972 graduate of Kecoughtan High School. He started out in the restaurant business working beside his father at the Jackson Restaurant on Washington Avenue in Newport News. Since that time, he has owned and operated several restaurants including Froggies in Norfolk, Waffle World in Portsmouth and the Outer Banks, and Z's Restaurant in Smithfield. He also operated the Auto Bath Carwash in Chesapeake.

Paris was predeceased by his grandparents Anthony and Anna Zambas, Paris and Thekla Gregory, and his stepson Bryan Dykes. He leaves to cherish his memory to his loving wife of 20 years Becky, his daughter Parys, his parents George and Evangeline Zambas, his sister Anna Earnhardt and her husband Terry of Yorktown, his daughter-in-law Amy Dykes, grandchildren Corinn and Reagan Dykes of Mustegon, MI, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A prayer service will be conducted at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Newport News on Sunday, May 22nd at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will follow until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. George Chioros officiating. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parys Zambas Educational Fund, c/o Towne Bank.
