Pallie Barrett "P.B." Piland, Jr., 77 of Suffolk, VA passed away August 18, 2017. He was born in Nansemond County, VA to the late Pallie Barrett Piland, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Hingerty Piland. He was also predeceased by his brother, William Morrison Piland, Sr. P.B. retired after 40 years as a Supervisor at Newport News Shipbuilding in the Pipe Department M42. He served in the Virginia National Guard. He was a member of Westminster Reform Presbyterian Church. P.B. loved baseball and football and spending time watching his grandchildren play sports.

P.B. is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet Knight Piland; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Gerald White and Lisa and Don Sexton; son, Craig Piland; grandchildren, Dr. Skylar White, Leslie Sexton, Kelsey White, Lance Sexton, Barrett Piland, and Reagan Piland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery with Dr. Ruffin Alphin officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA  22215.
