Olivia Katherine Phillips, 17, passed away November 4, 2021 at home and was received into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus.  Olivia was born in Virginia Beach, VA to Jennifer and Percy Phillips. She is predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Janet Phillips.

In addition to her parents, Olivia is survived by her brother, Peyton Phillips; sister, Addie Phillips; aunt, Leslie Peverall; uncle, Doug Phillips; and maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Joelene Peverall.

Olivia, a.k.a. "Livi Pie", was such an inspiration of hope and perseverance to all she encountered.  Her smiles and giggles could light up a room and she was loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.  She enjoyed riding in our van, going to the movies and taking strolls around our neighborhood.  She loved to watch her shows and you often could hear her hysterically laughing at SpongeBob SquarePants, Peppa Pig or Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends.  She had a special bond with her older brother, Peyton, who could always make her laugh.  She will be greatly missed but we are comforted knowing she is no longer suffering from the effects of PEHO syndrome.  We know she is in heaven happily dancing on streets of gold with her angels.

We would like to acknowledge Olivia's pediatrician, Dr. Christopher Wrubel, for all of his loving dedication to her and our family.  Our gratitude is also given to Dr. Ami Mehta with Palliative Care and the Edmarc team.  They gracefully helped us navigate the last few months of Olivia's life.  We also are forever grateful to the loving in-home nursing care our daughter received from her nurses and caretakers.  Juanita, Jenniece, Tania, Patty, Susan, Carlee, Mary and Niaya – your loving care of our child will never be forgotten.  Each one of you was truly a blessing to our family.

A Celebration of Life/Heavenly Birthday Celebration will be held November 11, 2021 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Phillips residence.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Edmarc Hospice for Children, 516 London Street, Portsmouth, VA 23704 or CHKD, P.O.
