Norma Jean Baker Cox Jennings, 85, passed away April 20, 2020. She was born in Burdine, KY the daughter of the late Allen Farley Baker and Maudie Ethel Salyers Baker. She was predeceased by her husbands, Leonard Cox, Sr. and Felix Jennings; her grandson; and siblings, Charles Baker, Bobby Baker, Billy Ray Baker, Faye Booker, and Ruth Webber. Norma worked as a machine operator for Lipton Tea Company and then later went on to own and operate her own beauty salon. She was a member of Suffolk Church of Christ.
Norma is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Cox Chavis (Harry), Betty Ruth Speight (Donnie); son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Cox, Jr. (Suzanne); 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine Miller (Tommy), Jackie Holt (Johnny), Mary Rose Wilson (Quincy), June Beech; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary Baker (Phyllis), Doug Baker (Ramona).
A private graveside service will be held at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Jason Sadler officiating. Once her service has been held it will be available for viewing on her obituary page on our website. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Church of Christ. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
