Nelson Dutton Linaburg, 86, of Suffolk passed away on August 12, 2011. A native of Berryville, VA he was the son of the late Howard and Nellie Carpenter Linaburg. He was the Director of Music at Wycliff Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach for many years. Nelson was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Suffolk where he served as choir director and organist before going to Wycliff. He was a longtime member of the American Guild of Organists where he served as Dean of the Norfolk Chapter; taught organ and piano lessons at his private studio; and was a member of the Board of Sundays at Four.

He is survived by his brothers, Holmes Linaburg of Clearbrook, VA and Ralph Linaburg of Winchester, VA and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Myrtle F. Hatcher and Rev. Skip Irby officiating. Burial will be private in Winchester, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to The Nelson Linaburg Young Musicians Support Fund – Sundays at Four, P. O.
