Nellie Felton Davis Saunders, 80, of Suffolk, VA passed away on July 8, 2009. A native of Nansemond County, VA she was the daughter of the late George M. Davis, Sr. and Annie Lee Felton Davis. She was also predeceased by her husband, Nathaniel Harold Saunders. Nell was a retired school teacher and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Whaleyville Chapter #137. She was also a member of Windsor Baptist Church where she served as a member of the choir, taught Sunday School and helped in Bible School. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Liberty Spring Church.

Nellie was devoted to her family. She is survived by her sisters, Alice D. Turner of Suffolk, her twin sister Bettie D. Williams of Suffolk, Juanita D. Nystrom of Blacksburg and Mary D. Fisher of Williamsburg; and a brother, George M. Davis, Jr. of Franklin.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, officiated by Rev. Bryan Brooks and Rev. Mary Henderson. Burial will be at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 12:30 – 2:00 pm for visitation prior to the funeral service.
