Nelda Ruth Hengst Jewett, 85, passed away May 26, 2014. She was born in King, PA the daughter of the late David Ray and Carrie Fickes Hengst. She was predeceased by her husband, Mark Creighton Jewett. Nelda was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, VA. She was an avid bridge player, loved to watch the game show network, and was active in Meals on Wheels. Nelda is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Eileen Jewett, Mark and Bonnie Jewett, Gary and Lisa Jewett; grandchildren, Justin, Carrie, Dana, Ryan, Heather and Jamey; and 8 great grandchildren.


A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church at 6120 N. Kings Hwy., Alexandria, VA 22303 with Rev. Michelle Fincher officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
