Neal Stewart Christopher, 65, of Suffolk, VA passed away January 29, 2012. He was born in Brunswick, GA to Mary Graves York and the late Vernon Lovette Christopher. He is also predeceased by his sister Geraldine Saylor. Neal served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, children's Sunday school teacher, and past children church leader.


In addition to his mother, Neal is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Taylor Christopher; daughter and son-in-law, Heather Christopher Asbell and Drey Asbell of Williamsburg; son, Neal Anthony Christopher of Norfolk; grandson, Gavin Tyler Asbell; sister, Carolyn Christopher Tayloe of Suffolk; and his beloved dog, Sammy.


A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, VA 23434, with Rev. John Hunter and Rev. George Insley officiating. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
