Obituary

Nathan James Gooding, Sr., 32, passed away on July 28, 2021. He was born in Newport News, VA to Robert Earl Gooding Jr. and the late Bonnie Jean Jernigan Gooding. To his friends and others, he was known as "Nate Dog". He worked as a custodian at the Target warehouse. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to fish. He never knew a stranger, because he was a friend to all.

Nathan is survived by his father; sons, Alexander, Adrian, and Nathan Gooding Jr; and loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Nathan's funeral will be 2:00 pm, Monday, August 2, 2021 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-4:00 pm, Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may join the family for visitation after the funeral service and other times at the residence of Shelia and Jim Ward Jr. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of choice.
