Nancy Ellen Mays Chaney, 67, passed away March 5, 2023.  She was born in Nansemond County, VA the daughter of the late Willie Edward Mays, Sr. and Ruth Irene Carr Mays.  She was predeceased by her husband, William Chaney Jr.; her grandson, Samuel Brown; and great grandson, C.J. Lambert.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Charlene McInnerney (Jason); sons, David Chaney (Kelly), William Chaney III (Michele), and Brian Chaney (Jenny); grandchildren, Wendy Chaney (Amber), Kaitlyn McInnerney, Cody Chaney, Brittany Dalton (Kane), Skylar Chaney, Josh Brown, Dalton Roberts, Liam Chaney, and Chris Chaney; sisters, Liz Thomas, Hazel Boswell (Joe), Virginia Hendricks, Mary Catherine Yen (Buster), Margaret Boswell (Ken); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor John King officiating.  Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Thursday night from 7- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
