Nancy Bryant Dodson, 90, of Smithfield, VA passed away September 19, 2009. She was born in Isle of Wight County the daughter of the late George Grover Bryant and Georgie Hall Bryant. She was predeceased by her husband Melvin Scott Dodson and daughter, Nancy Dodson Mears. Nancy was a graduate of Longwood College and later went on to retire as a school teacher from Isle of Wight County Public Schools. She was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church where she also taught sunday school.

Nancy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Melvin Scott Dodson, Jr. and Ouida Dodson of Suffolk, VA; three grandchildren, Christopher Mears, Bryant Dodson, and Hunter Dodson; sister, Elizabeth B. Winslow of Chester, VA; nieces, Beth Butner and Ann Winslow both of Chester, VA;

A graveside service will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Memorial Park in Smithfield, VA with Dr. Don Rhoton officiating.
