Myra Dawn Boyd McCraney, 78, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 15, 2021. She was born in Washington, NC to the late Margie Gurkin and Nathan Boyd. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Charles Boyd and Elaine Boyd Mitchell. Myra was a licensed practical nurse at Norfolk General Hospital and later married and stayed home to raise her two children. She loved the Lord and faithfully served Him and her church. She loved being surrounded by her family and especially her seven grandchildren. She will be remembered especially for her caring heart, sewing, bread ministry, lasagna, birthday cakes and chocolate pies.

Myra is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William "Bill" McCraney; daughters, Jennifer McCraney March (Hunter) and Stephanie McCraney Munford (Gregg); grandchildren, Jessica, Will and Matt March, Brandon and Brittany Munford, and Joey and Jamie Poe; sisters, Joyce Boyd, Dianne Haddock (Glenn) and Esther Poe (Rev. Joe Poe); brother, Rev. Dwight Boyd (Rose); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Myra's funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Fred Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. In memory of Myra, memorial donations may be made to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund.
