Milton Gene Stewart, born on February 28, 1949, in Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, in Carrsville, Virginia, at the age of 77.

Milton devoted his professional life to serving as a Civil Service Contract Specialist until his retirement. His career was marked by dedication and integrity, reflecting the same values he carried into all aspects of his life.

A man of deep faith, Milton faithfully followed the calling of the Lord, serving in numerous local churches throughout his life. Together with his beloved wife, Judy L. Stewart, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage, he embarked on numerous mission trips. Their shared commitment to mentoring and discipleship touched many lives, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and service.

Milton found joy in woodworking, a craft that allowed him to express his creativity and skill. He often shared his creations with family and friends, leaving behind cherished mementos of his talent and love.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Clifton Stewart and Gladys Marie Spence Stewart, and his brother, Clifton Stewart. He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy; his daughters, Angela M. Staton (Thomas), Sherry S. Watson (Alan), and Joann F. Denner (Patrick); his cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Zach, Elijah, and Jaycee; and his sister, Judy H. Brown (Mike).

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery, with Pastor Zach Watson and Elijah Watson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to The Union Mission Ministries at PO Box 12028, Norfolk, VA 23541.
