Michael Wayne Tate, 62, of Chesapeake, VA passed away November 4, 2016. He was born in Gordonsville, VA to the late Edward and Etta Tate. He worked for the Virginia Psychiatric Institute and previous at Pollard's Chicken both in the maintenance department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. Michael was a member of Sons of the Confederate Veterans and a past member of the Lion's Club.

Michael is survived by his wife, Susan Tate; sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Tate and wife Michelle Neo, Matthew Tate and wife Kendra Coates, and Nicholas McGinness; and grandsons, Oliver Coates and Dylan Coates.
