Michael Owen Matthews, 65, passed away August 13, 2018.  He was born in Suffolk, VA the son of the late Russell Owen Matthews and Shirley Frances Whitley Matthews.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Sara Whitley Matthews.  Michael retired as an engineer from the City of Virginia Beach.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Sammie Linde and husband, Jonas, and Cicily Rose Matthews; grandchildren, Braeden, Raymond, Kristoffer, and one on the way; sister, Carol Sue Matthews; brother, Barry Matthews; aunt, Maggie; uncle, Tommy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. at the home of Sammie and Jonas Linde, 891 Eastnor Court, Newport News, VA 23608.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Home 6171 Kempsville Circle, Norfolk, VA 23502.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
