Michael Jack Hooker, 55, of Suffolk, VA passed away on January 3, 2009. A native of Muskegon, Michigan, he was the son of the late Jacqueline Schalk Hooker. Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Saudi Gulf War where he was a Chaplain, RCA Minister. After his retirement, he began working with the Aqua Rev. Ministries of Ft. Monroe and Hampton Roads, VA. He was a minister at Interlaken Reformed Church in NY, and a member of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church in Suffolk. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 15048.

Michael is survived by wife, Penny Lyn Hooker of Suffolk; and father, Kenneth Nelson Hooker of MI; children, Martin James Hooker, Staci Michele Hooker and Matthew James Hooker; grandchild, Lucas James Hooker; brother, Jeffrey Kenneth Hooker and sister, Patricia Ann Hooker.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Westminister Reformed Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Don Miller officiating. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Cemetery. Friends may join the family one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation.
