Rev. McGindley Adolphus Redd, 82, of Franklin, VA passed away on November 21, 2012. A native of Suffolk, VA he was the son of the late Jesse McGindley and Francis Winner Redd. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Mary Jeannette Redd and his son, Jesse Worth Redd. He retired as an Engineer for Norfolk and Portsmouth Beltline Railroad. Rev. Redd was a member of the Agape Ministries in Chesapeake and a member of the International Gospel Association.
He is survived by his wife of seven years, S. Lyndia Redd of Franklin; daughters, Gloria R. Edwards and Christine Turner of FL; sons and daughters-in-law, Edward "Sonny" and Helen Mathias of MD and Patrick Allen and Candi Mathias of VA; sister Jenny Lee Epperson; daughter-in-law Donna Redd; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and loving niece and caregiver Angi Ayers.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with Pastor Jasper "Pete" Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Hollywood Cemetery in Newsoms, VA. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Sunday afternoon from 3 – 4 pm at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
