Eddie Filson, 48 of Suffolk, VA, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 16, 2021.  He was born in Granite City, IL and is predeceased by his father, Max Edward Filson I.  He is also predeceased by his grandparents, Foster/Elizabeth Filson and Vance/Elsie Woodward.  He spent many years in the medical field as a CT Technologist and most recently tried his hands in the construction business with GR8 Solutions, but most importantly his greatest accomplishment is his two daughters.

Eddie is survived by his daughters, Kendyl and Kamryn Filson; mother, Deborah Rhoads (Gerry Ratte); sister, Kristi Filson (Shannon Bell); nephews, Austin, Coby, and Tyler; aunts, uncles and cousins in Pennsylvania; many friends past and present including his best friend, Lisa Pender.

Eddie was an avid football fan, devoted to the New Orleans Saints, WHO DAT, win or lose.  He loved the color purple, seafood and was proud of his cooking abilities.  His sneakers were a must, the louder – the better and he wore them proudly.  He always made sure to let you know how proud he was of his girls and loved to spend any time that he could with them.

A celebration of Eddie's life will be planned for a future date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your charity of choice in Eddie's name.
