Mathew Wayne Ramage, 56, passed away peacefully a Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY on December 24, 2024 with his wife and daughter at his side.  He was a resident of Suffolk, VA for 20 years.  He was battling cancer for a year and a half.

Matthew graduated from Lone Oak High School.  He attended Campbellsville University for two and a half years.  His life took a change and he joined the United States Navy.  During this time he lived in Suffolk, Virginia.  After 20 years of service, he retired in May 2012.  He then moved back to Paducah.  He soon found his forever home in Ledbetter, Kentucky where he worked for Allied Universal Security.  He worked as a security guard at Ashland Chemical for 11 years.  He was loved by so many people at Ashland Chemical, they were his family.

Mathew's hobbies included hunting, fishing, and cooking on his smoker.  He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his daughter Kerrah, she was his world.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kathy Runyon Ramage; a daughter, Kerrah Marie Ramage; sisters, Monica Ray Clark (Terry) and Lyn Carter from Paducah; cousin/brother, Stewart Lofton; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rubel H. and Joretta Riley Ramage.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Tim Rawls officiating.  Memorial donations may be made to VFW Post #4411, 3385 Beaverdam Rd., Franklin, VA 23851.
