Mary Ellen Smith, 64, passed away June 20, 2025.  She was born in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Harvey Quimby and Ellen Colleen Quimby Hawkins.  She was predeceased by her sister Rosie Hudgins. Mary was a 1976 graduate of Forest Glen High School.

Mary loved people and never met a stranger.  There was nothing she loved more than her grandchildren and they could do no wrong in her eyes.  It was a testament to her character with all the health problems she battled over the years, she always kept a positive attitude.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mark T. Smith; daughter, Brandy Smith Mumford (Roge); son, Ryan Smith (Erika); grandchildren, Connor, Reese, Cole, Camden, Mattox, A.J., and Mazie; sister, Debbie Turner; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy LaChance (P.J), Rev. Luther W. Smith (Martha), and James Wilkins (Jan).   The family would like to give special recognition to Jason Fitzgerald who she thought of as her lifesaver for his generous donation of a kidney.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Matthew Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to Life Net or the American Diabetes Association.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
