Mary Sue Powell Goodwin, 79, of Suffolk, VA passed away September 18, 2012. She was born in Nansemond County the daughter of the late Charlie and Susie Taylor Powell. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Floyd "Skinny" Goodwin; and brothers, Charles Taylor Powell and Otis Gordon Powell.

Mary Sue retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church. She was also a member of the Sinai Chapter Number 18 in Suffolk where she was a Past Matron and currently serving as Secretary. She was a Past Grand Representative of Kansas in Virginia. Her other memberships included Order of the Eastern Star, Past Bethel Guardian, Bethel #28 in Suffolk, International Order of Job's Daughters. She also was a member of the Chuckatuck High School Reunion Committee currently serving as Secretary/Treasurer.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen G. and Shannon C. Bradley and son Floyd Byron Goodwin, all of Suffolk, VA. She is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, and friends. She was the World's Best Mama...we love you and you will live in our hearts forever.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church with Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
