Mary Ann
Humphries
July 4, 1948 – June 7, 2026
Parr Funeral Home & Crematory
6:00 - 7:00 pm (Eastern time)
Mary Ann Humphries, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, in Franklin, Virginia, at the age of 77. She was born on July 4, 1948, in Charlottesville, VA, to Raymond Columbus Campbell and Frances Caroline Williams Campbell
Mary Ann is survived by her 2 loving daughters, Linda Armstrong and Renee Humphries (known professionally as Renee Roland), cherished Son in Law, Barry Armstrong and her beloved grandchildren, James Roland Lassiter and Gabrielle Marie Armstrong; Caroline Houck her cousin and lifelong best friend Barbara Wesson and a host of friends and extended family who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Frances Campbell, and her brother, Raymond Campbell.
Mary Ann spent her early years in Charlottesville, VA pursuing a career in cosmetology and was licensed through Job Corps. Her early career began at Vogue Beauty Salon in Suffolk, VA. Then went on to dedicate over 30 years to her craft at Hair Cuttery in Fredericksburg, where she built lasting relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
What is less known about Mary Ann is that she was a published and talented writer whose poetry has been published both in recorded music as well as print-form Poetry Collections. She had a vibrant personality with a bubbly, fun and positive posture, always aiming to edify others. Her neighbors, clients, and colleagues all bear witness to her charity, kindness, giving heart and silly sense of humor.
Mary Ann was also deeply committed to her community, and her faith, actively involving herself with the Salvation Army, where she attended church services and contributed her time and energy to support their Christian mission and aid the needy.
Mary Ann's warmth, creativity, and kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was what we would call “a people person”. She loved people and they certainly loved her.
