Mary Elizabeth Crutchfield Hamilton, 78, of Suffolk, VA passed away on February 10, 2008. A native of Henderson, NC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Henry Irvin Crutchfield and Agnes Bray Crutchfield. She was a graduate of the Southampton Memorial Practical Nursing School in 1964 and retired after 32 years of service as an LPN and Supervisor of the Central Supply Department at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mary was a faithful member of Holy Neck Christian Church, the Ladies Sunday School Class, and an Assistant Sunday School teacher in the Ladies and Men's Classes.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John W. Hamilton, Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law Sylvia Hamilton Simpson and C. McCoy Simpson of Suffolk; one grandchild, Craig Wade Simpson and wife Kim of Mechanicsville, VA.; four great grandchildren, Krista, Taylor, Grace, and J.W.; two step great grandchildren, Jennifer and Lindsey; sister and brother-in-law Della C. Mitchell and Richard of Virginia Beach; and adopted family, Theresa, Brian, Matthew, Stephanie and Michael Grenon.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Neck Christian Church, with the Rev. Dolan Talbert officiating. The family will be at the residence.
