Mary Lee Council Crocker, 74, of Smithfield, VA passed away November 3, 2011. She was born in Surry County, Virginia the daughter of the late Rosa Lee Appel Council and Joseph Franklin Council. She was also predeceased by her husband, William Pennie Crocker, Sr. and her brother, James Franklin Council. Mary was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Suzanne Wesley Sunday School Class. She was also a past Sunshine Chairman.

Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William Pennie Crocker, Jr. and Teresa L. Crocker of Smithfield, VA; granddaughter, Krystal Pagan (Richard); great grandson, Gabriel Emmit Conway; aunt, Frances Appel of Surry, VA; sister-in-law, Doris Council of Smithfield, VA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Uzzell United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeffrey Cannon and Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Monday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA and other times at the residence of William and Teresa Crocker.
