Martha Evelyn Parker Richards, 96, passed away September 15, 2024.  She was born in Nansemond County, Virginia the daughter of the late Joseph Bernie Parker and Telzie Beulia Williams Parker.  She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Linwood David Richards, Jr.; and siblings, Frances Brown, James E. Parker, William T. Parker, and Bobby E. Parker.  Martha was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church and the Naomi Sunday School Class.   She served on the kitchen committee as well as serving as a greeter.  She was also a member of the W.M.U.

Martha is survived by her children, Linda Kay Donaldson (David), Sheila Gail Harper (Eric), and Linwood David Richards, III (Catherine); grandchildren, Jon, Jennifer, Matthew, Mike, and Rosemary; great grandchildren, Kira, Evan, Calvin, Kelsey, and Thomas; sister, Shirley Rountree; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Tim Rawls officiating.  Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Monday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to Wilroy Baptist Church.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
